The Sree Veerasthanam Viruttanam Bhagavathy Temple's origins stretch back into the mists of time, its exact antiquity lost to history but its spiritual power undiminished through the centuries. During the transformative Devaprasnam conducted before the 2010 renovation and the subsequent Naveekarana Kalasam (May 16-26, 2010), ancient secrets were unveiled—most notably that this sacred space was consecrated by a highly accomplished Rishi whose spiritual prowess infused the temple with extraordinary shakti.
Within our Sreekovil resides the rare and powerful combination of Dwarikanasini Devi and Veerabhadraswami in a single peedom—a configuration found in very few temples across Kerala. This unique arrangement creates a powerful vortex of divine energy, making our temple a preferred destination for Shakti Upasana.
Our temple is blessed with several Upadevathas including:
The temple's tantric rights are held by the renowned Kallur Mana of Thripunithura, with Brahmasree Sreekumaran Namboodiripad currently serving as our Tantri. Under the guidance of the Tantri and Mootha Adigal, all daily poojas and special rituals are performed according to strict Vedic and tantric traditions. The Tantri conducts annual shudhi ceremonies before the Utsavam and provides essential guidance on all matters of temple ritual and spiritual practice.
